Wonder what missionaries do on P-day? (Preparation Day) Clean! It is important to have a clean and orderly home in order for the Spirit to dwell. The frig used to be in that spot. This must have been a rather nasty job! (Sorry about the side view of the pic.)
Kevin and his American companion, Elder Cook & two Sister missionaries.
Kevin didn't include captions, so this must be a district meeting (hint: the Elders are wearing a suitcoat! It is too hot to wear the full suit every day.) Elders and Sister missionaries get together regularly with the Mission President to receive instruction, report on activities and discuss progress with investigators.
Updates from recent letters - Kevin says:
"Elder Cook and I are rocking it here. We have a few people teaching and possible baptisms in the next week and a half. so we will see. Today we were totally cleaning the house, so thats been fun and it will be nice when its finished. He is drilling me everyday all the time, about the language."
"i have bought stuff to start baking, so cook and i will start making somethings. idk what yet, but we want to make stuff.so that will be fun. i wouldnt mind some more recepies, like for pancakes and stuff. anything fast, easy, and cheap. so i wouldnt mind that. maybe ask around the ward for some or something. idk ure smart u can think of something haha."

The worst (that you can share)?
no water in our bathroom portion of our apartment, been so for 5 days. very annoying. working on getting it taken care of and hopefully will be by the end of the week

The most spiritual?
"we gave a blessing to a member and i did the (first part) in english (we keep forgetting to go over it in portugues) and Cook did the (second part) in port. i didnt think much of it 'till last night at the wards family night. The member started talking about it and how even though i was speaking a different language........ she said she felt the spirit more strongly in my part then she did in Cooks part. That really took me by surprise. I really didn't think anything of it when i was doing (my part) but it was really really really cool that my lack of port. skills actually did something. i never thought of that before, but in some ways, im glad i know english. well, thats about all i understood her to say, so i dont have much more to add. but it just made me think that whatever language we use, the (result) is universal and transcends all earthly limitations. it was really cool."
